The SAT was designed to measure merit and preparation. But for too many students, it only measures how fast they can translate. Our mission is to break the educational language barrier so ESOL students can finally show colleges their true academic ability.
Origin
Before LearnPALM, our co-founders (now incoming students at Harvard and Yale) spent countless hours tutoring peers in Spanish and Portuguese. We watched brilliant students freeze on simple words, only to instantly solve complex math the second a phrase like "at least" was explained in their native language.
A Broken System
Seeing that "click" happen repeatedly made one thing clear: a "merit-based" exam is filtering out talented students simply because they process the world in another language. They aren't failing a math or reading test, they are failing a translation exercise.
Our Solution
LearnPALM creates original SAT-style questions in your native language to build cross-language connections across Math, Reading, and Writing. Through our core "Grammatical Connection" method, we link complex English rules directly to parallel structures you already understand in your language.
By developing the necessary logic natively first, your effort finally starts to count toward your score.
Merit Should Speak Every Language
With universities reinstating testing requirements, these scores dictate life trajectories. A score that doesn't accurately reflect your ability can lock you out of dream schools and the vital scholarships needed to afford higher education.
We believe justice means fixing this system so your final score reflects your actual preparation, not your struggle to translate.
